Missing Work while Recovering from Illness: Please Help Me Stay in My Home
My Story:
I am a single 59-year-old woman, and the only person in my household. I work full-time to support myself and have no other sources of support. I do have a therapy dog, who brings me comfort when all else seems dark.
I work as a receptionist at a Pilot site. When the area underwent full construction, the fumes and dust began to aggravate some of my health issues. I went to see a doctor who prescribed me a medication that caused a bad reaction and made me very ill. I was temporarily unable to work, and because I have only been with my employer for a short while, I do not have any paid time off from my job. With no pay coming in, I have not been able to meet my financial obligations and the pressure is overwhelming.
I am asking for help to pay my rent. I have no place where I can go and be safe while recovering from illness, and will be evicted if I cannot pay the past due balance very soon.
The stress is making my recovery process even slower, but I look forward to soon returning to the job I truly love. I am grateful to be able to return to my job when I am well. Your help would make all the difference for me in the meantime, and will have a lasting, positive impact on my situation.
