My Story:
I am married and attend graduate school, while working full-time as a research assistant. My wife and I both love animals, and volunteer regularly at the local animal shelter. Although we do not have any children yet, we're family oriented people, and we hope to start our own family in the near future.
While my income is enough to cover basic bills, we have a very tight budget, restricted to basic monthly bills. We are working hard to change this, with our goal of starting a family, but right now that is something we can't afford.
We are asking for Modest Needs to help us purchase a washer for our home. We currently have to walk long distances to the public laundry, which is difficult when the weather turns cold and when it snows. Using the public laundry mat also costs money that could otherwise go to food and necessities, and it can be challenging to find the time to go when balancing a busy work and academic schedule.
Your help with this expense will give us some financial relief from paying for laundry every week, and will help reduce my wife's and my stress levels. With winter just around the corner, we would be so grateful for your help to purchase a washer so we do not need to worry about how we will get there in cold weather.
