Full-Time Worker Raising His Nephew Alone: Please Help Replace Bald Tires & Fix Brakes
My Story:
I am a single man in my early 30's. I am currently raising my nephew on my own. He is my brother's child. I was given custody of my nephew because my brother has drug addiction issues and cannot take care of his son. I am doing everything I can to provide a good life for the boy, and I work very hard. My nephew is 10 and is in the 5th grade. He loves soccer and plays the violin. I work full-time as an IT Analyst in the steel industry. I love my job!
I earn enough through my job to afford basic expenses such as rent, groceries, utilities, and make sure my nephew has everything he needs. However, I don't have any savings left after paying for medical bills that came up when I had foot surgery, and if I take on any expenses out of my usual budget right now, I will not be able to stay on track with our regular bills and continue providing my nephew with the stable environment he needs.
I am reaching out for Modest Needs' help because I urgently need to make my car safe to drive again. The tires are completely bald, and there is an ABS issue that needs repair. I use my car to go to work, run errands, and take my nephew places. Without a working car, I do not know what I can do. However, I will not be able to pay for rent, groceries, or other essential living expenses if I pay for the repairs.
Your assistance will mean that I can continue working, going to the doctor, and providing for my nephew. More importantly, I will not risk my nephew's or anyone else's safety when driving once I have new tires and functioning brakes. This would help us in more ways than I can possibly put into words. Your kindness will have a lasting effect on our lives and will teach my nephew the importance of charity and kindness. Thank you so much for your consideration.
