Rest assured that I will continue making payments to cover the remaining balance. My son is active and healthy considering all that he has endured as a small child born prematurely. It gets lonely being a single parent bearing all of the weight that comes with having a special needs child. Mom Needs Help Paying for 6-Year-Old Son's Medical Bill
My Story:
I am a single mom with one 6-year-old son. My son was born with developmental disabilities, associated with premature birth. I work full-time as a Human Service Coordinator, working to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. My son enjoys piano, playing with Legos, and watching YouTube videos of people building things with Legos.
When my son had a corrective surgery, I was told it would be covered by my insurance. However, my coverage lapsed three days prior to his surgery without my knowledge, and I received a hospital bill a few months later. I went through the grievance process, but did not win due to the hospital's policies and procedures. I have been making small monthly payments, but it is really hard on my budget. My son's father lost his job, and the child support payments stopped, making everything that much harder for me financially.
I am requesting Modest Needs' assistance to pay the remaining balance on my son's surgery bill. I am worried that without help, this bill will be sent to collections. It is difficult to make ends meet and the added monthly payments on medical bills are threatening my ability to keep up with our regular expenses.
This funding will help to restore a feeling of financial stability, and lift a huge financial burden off of my shoulders. Your assistance with this medical bill will allow me to breathe a sigh of relief, knowing I can continue to provide for my son and stay on track with our expenses.
