User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeI cannot express how relieved I am to have been helped. We are 12 days away from leaving the military and moving to Pittsburgh. We literally have $0.01 in our bank account and have not been able to purchase groceries in a week or two. Your donation will help us catch up on our behind payments as we try to transition smoothly out of military life. I will certainly pay it forward. Chris Stone, and Family

Transitioning Military Family Needs Help With Car Payment

My Story:

I am a Marine with 8 years of military service and two deployments. My wife and I have been happily married for 6 years. We have two boys, ages 4 and 1, and we recently found out that we are expecting a baby girl who will arrive in September 2016. We have 2 Chihuahuas named Bella and Fleury, as well as my 'service dog in training,' named Meeka. I am in the process of being medically retired from service. I have had gradually worsening medical problems stemming from my deployment in 2013, and in August of 2015 I was informed that I would be put before a medical board to determine if I was fit to stay in the military. This process should have taken 10 months however, it only took five and we were given 30-90 days to exit the military. I am now transitioning from active duty service to civilian life. I have applied for benefits and will be starting school with the GI bill, however during this transition we are extending our tight budget to the max and are very worried about how we will make our car payment.

We respectfully request Modest Needs' help to afford our car payment. I fear that if we do not find this money we will lose our car. In addition to my transition out of active service my wife will have to leave her job and find a new one when we relocate and move. This will further strain our budget. If we can get over this step in our lives we can make it through until my disability, educational housing allowance, and new career paychecks kick in.

We are working hard to take care of our family and this help will ensure that we don't fall behind and end up in a bad spot during this time. We truly appreciate your assistance and thank you for considering our story.
