Veteran and Family Facing Eviction After Temporary Reduction in Work Schedule

My Story:

I am a veteran and working hard on starting a new life now that I am no longer in the military. My fiancé and I do all we can to take care of our household. We both have strong career backgrounds, and are seeking better work opportunities while planning our new life together. We are looking forward to our wedding. My fiancé has an adorable 5-year-old son who has Down syndrome. His favorite activities are swimming, playing basketball, bowling, watching Elmo on tv, and meeting developmental goals with passion. We were engaged last year, and I am overjoyed at this new path my life is taking. However, this last month presented a few unexpected turns. Our car needed repairs, and due to a temporary slow down at work, I was not placed on the work schedule for a week. I am back to my regular work schedule now, but that income loss was hard. We are worried about how we will pay our rent this month.

We are asking Modest Needs to help pay our rent. If we are unable to pay this, the landlords will evict us and I am worried we will be homeless because we cannot afford a deposit anywhere else. With my work schedule back to normal, and the car repaired, we will able to take care of our family going forward, and continue to work hard to better our future. We do not have anyone else to turn to.

This funding will ensure that we do not lose our housing. For the better part of the past year I have also been attending classes to become a copywriter, and we hope to one day have a successful business of our own so that we can take the best care of our family as possible. My fiancés' son means the world to us and this funding would not only keep us in our home, but let us know that that there are others out there who are willing to help those in need. Thank you!
