Recent Cancer Diagnosis: Please Help Me Pay for Unexpected Surgery Bill

My Story:

I am a single mother of two kids. My 21-year-old son loves to cook and helps out by cooking and is very helpful when it comes to preparing meals for our family. My 22-year-old daughter is a student who struggles with multiple learning disabilities. She is currently attending vocational school. We all love fishing during the summer months, and we fish as often as we can. I work full-time as a medical transcriptionist for a national company. My job is great because it allows me to work from home, and I get to spend more time with my kids that way.

As the income earner in our household, I earn enough to pay for basic expenses, but just manage to live paycheck to paycheck. I do not have savings for emergency expenses. In October, I went to the doctor and some of my test results were abnormal. In November, I had to have further testing and biopsies performed. In December, I learned that I had pre-cancerous lesions and had to have surgery to remove them. In early January, I underwent surgery and was told that I had cancer. I now have to have a hysterectomy, and I am very worried about the medical expenses and missed work piling up and putting my family in a terrible financial bind.

I am asking for Modest Needs to please assist me with the bill from my last surgery so I can keep these bills from getting out of hand as I prepare for my next surgery. The recent medical expenses have already set me behind on my regular bills, and I am now forced to choose between catching up with my mortgage and paying for this medical bill.

Your assistance will take away some of the stress and worry I have been experiencing, and enable me to focus on my health and recovery from my next surgery. I believe the less stress I have, the better I can heal and return to work. Once I am healed from my surgery, I am planning to take as much overtime work as my job will allow, and then make payment plans for the following medical expenses so I can keep everything under control. Your assistance would have a huge impact on my family, and it will show my kids that there are good people out there, doing good things in the world to help others. I hope that, we will soon be in a position to do the same and pay it forward to others.
