This person has left the following thank you note:
I just lost employment at the end of the summer and I am the guardian for my youngest sister. It has been a challenging time for me as I transition and try to rebuild a new career. This would be difficult to do without the only transportation we have. We live far and not close to public transportation. If it wasn't for your kindness I would have not been able to get my car fixed and safely get to job interviews. I am grateful for all your help and I hope to one day return the favor.
Need Mandatory Car Repair To Fix Brakes And Continue Supporting Family
I am a single woman and the legal guardian of my youngest sister who is 17. I have been caring for her since our mother passed in 2006. Our parents are divorced and my father helps a bit, but is not in the picture, making me the primary care giver for my sister. This summer I lost my job after 2 years with the organization and am currently training through the state's Work Force Development Program, in order to find a new job.
I am seeking assistance from Modest Needs to repair my vehicle's brakes. It is my only means of transportation and there is no public transportation where we live. Without this car, I will not be able to get to my training program or take care of my sister. My budget is currently so tight, that every cent is accounted for, and there is no way I can save up enough in order to fix my car. I am very concerned for our safety every time I have to drive, yet have no choice, as this is our only way around. I am currently in the process of selling our home in order to move closer to town, which will save us money in the long run.
Your help would mean so much to me. It would provide a great relief especially because the car repair will increase my chances of finding a good job, as well as ensure our day-to-day survival. You help will also provide a means for my sister to complete her education and allow her to get to school safely. My plan is to pay this assistance forward and help someone else in need once I am back on my feet. Thank you!
