I would like to thank you all for your support. I has not been easy, but with all your help easier times are coming. I can not thank you enough, this is the best gift anyone could have given our family. Once our car is fixed then my husband can take the full time job he has been offered. Yay! Thank you do much.
Army Family Must Get Car Repaired to Survive
I am married with three small children (8, 5, and 3 months). My husband is in the Army Reserves and ever since he has returned from active duty about a year and a half ago he has not been able to find a secure full time job. He is currently serving in the Reserves once a month and works on an as needed basis for a hospital since his return.
I recently returned from my unpaid maternity leave after having our daughter. I am an assistant director at a preschool, where i have been for the past nine years. Both my husband and I have degrees, however it has been difficult to find full and steady employment to help pay our bills. We are barely making ends meet. And now our 2000 Nissan decided to start acting up. Its important for our family to get the car fixed, because when my husband is working, he has to commute 45 minutes each way.
This auto repair is something that we never thought we would have to deal with. We only earn just enough to cover our monthly bills and food expenses. Because the car is not running properly, it has been difficult for my husband to commute to and from his job. Our household is already pinching pennies because he is only working on an as need basis since he returned from active duty. I am doing everything that i can working 40 or more a week just to make ends meet.
Without assistance, I fear that we will have to cut back on paying our bills in a timely manner. Or my husband will lose work because he can not make the commute carless.
It pains me that my children will have to go without even more so that we can try to afford our monthly bills. I feel like I have failed them as a mother. I pride my self on being able to provide for my family and have never asked outside assistance before now. I really like to be able to do it on my own. It saddens me that I need to ask for help.
Funding this application will help alleviate the stress of finding a way to commute to work and will allow my husband to pick up more hours if available. I will also help us be able to still pay our bills and not risk being behind on our rent and or utilities. We would REALLY appreciate any HELP. Thank you.
