Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

I want to thank you for donating to me and my family, people you do not know. We are in a bad way and your generosity has helped tremendously in lifting us, all quite frail individuals, up. Our maintaining our many appointments allows us to set goals to becoming healthier. Now we can keep reaching for those goals! My son had an episode this last week. He was so very sick and your timing was/is perfect. Thank You

Two Autistic Children Need Transportation

My Story:

I am a disabled, single mother of two disabled children. Both of my children are autistic. My son, who is eight years old, also has a genetic condition which makes him very weak and causes high fevers and a lot of pain. He uses a wheelchair on an as-needed basis. We all require a full schedule of doctor and hospital visits. Because of their disabilities, I chose to home school them. Recently, my sister, who has worked 50+ hours a week, all her life, and loved it, has fallen ill. She is staying with me a short while, as she had exhausted all her savings in order to live and pay bills. I keep trying to dig us out, but things keep happening. We are very grateful, though, to have each other and are determined to make things succeed.

I need Modest Needs' help to pay my car insurance. It is not a medical bill directly, but we would have no medical care if we were in a situation where we could not get there due to lack of coverage. Being disabled, we live from month to month financially. This month I had to use the $200 I had saved for car insurance to get new front brakes and rotors. It is impossible to save for such things when you have zero extra. Now my sister, who I would NEVER turn away, is staying with us. She is physically in a very bad way and has used her entire savings to live.

With assistance, I will be able to continue to give my children the best care possible. It would impact my family immensely to know that at a dire moment, someone I do not know was willing to even so much as look at this, not to mention, help. It may not change my financial stress for a life time. But realistically, I do little else with my vehicle than appointments. Being regular with them affects our progress with our disabilities. This help and its effects are pretty major to me. Thank you for reading.
