Single Woman with Cancer Scared of Losing Her Home
My Story:
I am single and disabled, and I live alone. I have rheumatoid Arthritis and multiple myloma, and as a result, I had to medically retire.
I have worked all my life and prided myself on paying all my bills and paying them on time. I never dreamed I would get sick and have to retire early.
I earn just enough to live on and sometimes not enough for that. I do not have any money left over to save for an emergency. My retirement pay is very little. Whenever I need to go to Chicago for my treatment I have to take money from my very small budget to go which leaves me behind.
I need Modest Needs' help to pay my mortgage because I had a lot of expenses to pay at home, and I incurred expenses to travel to chicago to the cancer treatment center where I receive my care. Without assistance I will get behind on my mortgage. My home is the only thing I have.
This assistance will keep me from getting behind on my mortgage and other monthly bills. It would mean the world to me to receive help from Modest Need donors all over the world. Unless you have experienced a life altering illness, it is hard to put into words what it does to you both financially and personally. I have spent countless nights up worrying how I would survive. And when you're already dealing with health issues it becomes difficult not to just give up. I am very appreciative of any assistance your donors can provide. My hope is that I will one day be able to be a Modest Needs Donor.
