This person has left the following thank you note:
Wow, I just found out today that I have been fully funded and I couldnt be happier. When I started this journey with Modest Needs I didnt expect to become fully funded but thought I would give it a try. At first, it was slow going and nobody was alocating points to help me and I thought well we have so many deserving people that needs help. Then the points started to trickle in and then stalled again. I admit to being depressed and gave up on getting help. I checked today and was fully funded. I cant tell you how happy I am and sorry I ever doubted the kindness of the donors here. I needed some good news because money has been so tight and the donors at modest needs have made my day, week and even my month. Now I can get my needs met and none to soon. Thank you, Thank you and Thank you so very very much for helping me. I wish I could do something for you but if making me happy and easing some of my financial pressures is enough (cause it is for me)then you have made a difference in my life. I never again will ever 'doubt' the capacility of this organization to help the people in need. I now will be able to go to the store, get my medications and have complete and total independence. I am free of the public transportation system. It is making a huge difference in my life and I cant thank you enough. Please accept my whole hearted apprecitive, THANK YOU DONORS OF MODEST NEEDS, Lisa
Vehicle Modification For Paraplegic
I am a struggling paraplegic who needs help with my car so I can continue to live independently once I leave the nursing home. I am living here temporarily to get my decubitus ulcers healed up. Right now, the nursing home is taking all my money for services rendered. I have really struggled and need a break so can you please help me.
I need the car to go to doctor's appointments, grocery stores, and the laundromat. The car is specially adapted with hand controls so I can drive it since I cannot use my legs. To use public transportation costs $3.50 each way and limited as to how many bags of groceries or items you can bring home with you. Please please help me, without my vehicle there goes my independence.
The transmission went out and I found somebody who will work with me to repair it. Without this repair, no more doctor appointments for my chronic illness and no more independence. I don't know how to convey how important this really is to my overall independence and quality of life.
As of 2011-03-09, this application has been fully funded!
This request for help was funded at the recommendation and through the support of Modest Needs' donors.
Application Status Update: On 2011-03-29, Modest Needs sent payment via Check in the amount of $909.50 to ZF Inc Transmission on behalf of this deserving individual.
