Testimonial

This person has left the following thank you note:

I am so overwhelmed with gratitude at this moment!! I have just found out that my Modest Needs Grant has been funded. This is just an unimaginable gift from people who don't even know me. Being able to drive my car again without fear of becoming sick from the extreme heat will change my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I can't watit until the time I am able to 'pay this forward'......and I WILL!!!!

Disabled Veteran Needs a Car Fix

The Details:

I am a 57-year-old veteran who is surviving on my fixed disability VA benefits. I am a very physically frail individual with many health problems. I lost my home and all my possessions after Hurricane Katrina, and to this day continue to live in a FEMA trailer. I pride myself on staying on top of all my bills even with my low income.

I was just recently able to purchase my mobile home, but it is located away from town and requires me to drive at least 15 miles to have access to grocery stores and other businesses. My car air conditioner is completely broken, and the heat here is unbearable. Just the other day I became very ill from the heat when driving in my car to my appointment. There is no way I can afford to fix this and ask that someone please help me.

My health problems cannot tolerate this heat, and my budget cannot tolerate this repair.
