The Modest Needs 2010 Fundraising Challenge

Dear Friends,

I am thrilled to announce that, earlier this month, a private foundation that has asked to remain anonymous (for now) has pledged to match a FULL 100% of all funds that we raise AND give away in December 2010, up to a maximum of an incredible $500,000.00!

If we are able to work together claim the whole of this grant, then our donors will instantly empower Modest Needs to fund a full one million dollars' worth of grant applications from the hard-working, low-income individuals and families who've turned to Modest Needs for the help they need to remain productively self-sufficient

Clearly, in this final month of 2010, your 'small change' has the power to impact more lives at Modest Needs than ever before, both this year and next.

But, because this $500,000.00 grant is positioned as a 'challenge grant,' we can't claim any part of it without the help of people just like you - people who understand from experience the importance of the work we're doing together at Modest Needs.

Today, and in the spirit of the season, I'd like to ask you to please consider making a special one-time contribution towards this critical year-end fundraising goal.

If you'd like to help and are willing to pitch in, you can make the secure, tax-deductible contribution of your choice in two minutes or less simply by using our online donation form.

Or, if you'd rather, you can mail a contribution in support of our 2010 fundraising challenge to:

Modest Needs Foundation
115 E 30th St, FL 1
New York, NY 10016

You don't need to do anything special in order for you contribution to 'count' towards this remarkable challenge grant. Any contribution you make to Modest Needs in December 2010 will automatically count towards our year-end fundraising goal.

As always, my personal pledge to you is this:

Because Modest Needs' operating costs are paid entirely by grants made for that purpose, we will allocate a full 100% of the donations we receive in December 2010 to individuals and families who have turned to Modest Needs for the short-term help that no other organization is willing or able to offer.

Thank you so very much, both for taking the time to learn about this challenge grant and for your willingness to help us change more lives in 2010 and 2011 than has ever been possible for us before.

I look forward to hearing from many of you soon, but in the meantime, please accept my personal wishes for a joyous season filled with more health and happiness than your life can possibly contain.

My very best,

Dr. Keith P. Taylor
President / Executive Director
