This person has left the following thank you note:

User-submitted image - Click to see real sizeThank you so much for your generosity. I know it's a sacrifice and commitment to help in this way and it is appreciated. It has been a comfort to our family to know that we will have this bill taken care of in our time of struggle. These donations have allowed me to teach my young kids valuable lessons about giving back. We have been able to show them the kindness that people show and how helping others is an amazing way to spread love. Most importantly, we have been able to teach them that when someone helps in your time of need it is so important to pay it forward when you get back on your feet. Thank you again for taking some stress off our family financially and allowing us to have this life lesson for our kids.

I'm a Mom of 2 With Breast Cancer. My Car Will Be Repoed & Force Me to Stop Treatment!

My Story:

I am a married mother of two amazing kiddos. My son has ADHD, is 8 years old, and loves all things basketball and Minecraft. My daughter is 4 and enjoys basketball, dance, and preschool. We have a sweet therapy dog named Miss Lulu Belle, and she is still very much a puppy. I work as an elementary school counselor, and my husband works as a warehouse supervisor. Things have been harder recently at my job now that I cannot spend as much time with my students; I found out that I have breast cancer a few months ago and began a rigorous treatment schedule.

Sadly, my husband was laid off from his last job right as I got my diagnosis, but he was able to regain employment quickly. We earn enough to pay our basic living expenses every month, but we do live paycheck to paycheck, especially since my diagnosis. There have been so many unexpected deductibles, copays, and items that our insurance does not cover, so we had to use any money we had on medical bills and therapy for the whole family to cope with this abrupt life change. I have had severe side effects from chemotherapy, and I ended up in the emergency room. After I left, I found out that I owed hundreds for things my insurance did not cover, and right after getting home, my car's battery died. I had no choice but to replace the battery because I must get to my appointments; it is a matter of life and death for me. These costs have put us in a really tough and unexpected financial bind.

We are asking for Modest Needs' assistance paying my car payment. I would have been able to pay it, but the car repair took that money. This assistance will prevent us from putting a bill on a credit card with high interest rates. We will be able to get back on the right track and stay current with the car payments, so I can continue treatment. I will be able to be a better mom, and hopefully win my battle. Thank you for reading and giving if you can.
