We Can't Leave Our Home Because Our Garage Door is Broken With Our Car Stuck Inside! Help Us Fix It!
My Story:
Jon and I are living off our retirement income. He is a 9/11 survivor that suffers with PTSD, and September is still a very hard month for him every year. I was the Director of Pediatric Emergency Medicine in New York for 20 years but decided to put in my final notice after the hospital adopted new policies to increase their profits at the detriment of patient care. I would never compromise the safety of my patients. Now, though, we are enjoying retirement in our home together.
Our retirement is just enough to live on, so we live paycheck to paycheck. Recently, our garage door broke after seven good years out of it. It runs on electric and the coils snapped. The door won't open at all now, so our car is stuck in our garage. We have been unable to drive anywhere for about two weeks, but we do not have enough money to get a new garage door.
I am asking for help to replace our door, so we can leave our home. We could go about our lives, get groceries, go to appointments, see family, and more. This would mean so much to us, and we hope to pay it forward sometime soon. Thank you so much for your kindness.
