I am currently involved in a program that enables me to become self sufficient. I meet with a case worker bi-weekly and am actively pursuing my goals to be able to provide for myself and my three young children.

One of my biggest barriers has been my education. I dropped out of school in 11th grade. I have now completed a study program for the GED and have scored exceptionally well on the pre-test. It was highly recomended that I take the actual exam, which will enable me to get into a job and provide me with the means to care for my household.

Because at the moment, my source of income is mainly child support, I do not have the extra funds to pay for the GED test. It may sound like a small amount to request, but it will make a huge diffrence in my future. Not only will I be able to find work, but I can also look into pursuing more education part time, to eventually have the career of my dreams.
