Need New Eyeglasses
My Story:
I am requesting help to obtain a new pair of bifocal eyeglasses. I suffer from bipolar disorder, and I have had a hard life for the past few years. Although I see a psychologist regularly, I have had a hard time staying employed with my condition. Because of my mental illness, I recently fell behind in my rent and lost my apartment. I have been and am still living my car.
However, with the help of my social worker, I am getting better. I just obtained a new part-time job, and I have had interviews for other positions as well. If I can keep this position for a while, I will be able to find a home soon. My social worker and I are working together on that goal.
The reason I am requesting assistance at this time is that, recently, my glasses broke. They are five years old, and I am nearly blind without them. In order to read or fill out job applications, I have to remove the glasses and hold the paper close to my face. I can see well enough to drive during the day, but reading is extremely challenging. My prescription is very strong, and I need progressive lenses to see. These cost much more than I can afford, and I won't be able to afford anything at all until I start receiving my new income paychecks.
Please help! With these glasses, I will be able to work better at my new job. I also spend a lot of time at the library, and would like to enjoy reading again. Thank you.
