Make Sure Child w/ Down's Syndrome Doesn't Lose Life-Saving Electricity

My Story:

She is a disabled, single mother of in Danville, Illinois who, after receiving an abnormally high electricity bill, is fearful that the power in her home will be shut off. Losing electricity in her home would be dangerous, possibly even fatal, as her eldest child has Down's Syndrome and requires a nebulizer that runs on power that delivers her much-needed medication.

Being a single parent can be hard enough, but this parent also struggles with pancreatic endocrine tumor that makes it impossible for her to work. Her disability income is just enough to support her family of three, so when an unexpected emergency arises, it can mean going without power, or worse, eviction.

This single mom's power is already scheduled to be cut off, but you can step in and help this child with Down's Syndrome get the medicine she needs by making a contribution to Modest Needs and using the points to vote that we fund this application. When this request reaches 100% of the points it needs, we'll immediately send a check to her power company in the full amount owed, preventing the electricity from being shut down. And afterward, you'll get a thank you note, in this mom's own words, expressing how your 'small change' changed their lives.

Thank you for considering this application and for your continued support of Modest Needs.
