Past due Rent - Auto Repair

My Story:

I am a single mom with a 17 year old daughter. I am 55 years old. I went back to school three years ago to become a nurse so my financial situation would hopefully improve. I worked days and went to school at night for almost three years to obtain my LPN license. I worked for about three months as a nurse and was laid off. My ex-husband also lost his job around the same time (Feb. 2010) so I also lost child support.

I became employed again last April but due to the set back and still little or no child support, I am behind on pretty much everything. I had to go to a non-profit agency today to keep my electricity from being cut off. There is one debt collector that has been harassing me for the past year over an old debt that is over eight years old. Without warning, they garnished my bank account shortly after payday. They took my entire balance, which I intended to use for rent. I have consulted an attorney and he says I can file an exemption for undue hardship and get most of it back, but that will take a few weeks and I am already two months behind on rent.

To make matters worse, I recently had to pay out of pocket to repair my vehicle so that I could continue to work. My landlord is a nice person but I'm afraid of being evicted. I have no family and no place to go. Anything you could help with would be greatly appreciated. I want to sign up to help others as soon as I'm able. Thank you for your time. God Bless.
