Trying to Keep Job: Need Car Help

My Story:

I am a 26 year old married mother of three. In 2007, I financed a used car. I drove the car for less than a year and it broke down. The transmission went out. The car lot told me there was nothing they could do to help me. Since then, I have been struggling; renting cars to get to and from work, take the kids to school, get groceries, doctor's appointments, and all other errands.

During this time, I continued to pay my car note because I believe in paying my bills on time and meeting my obligations. I recently had a baby, and was off work for four months. I've been back to work since March, and I have been trying to catch up on bills that have accumulated since my time off. My savings are exhausted now and I am the only one employed at this time, as my husband has been diligently looking for work to no avail.

I am four months behind on my car note, due to my time off work and having to make a lump sum payment to get the car fixed. Now, the finance company wants to take the car back. I have worked really hard to meet my obligations and pay them. I've paid my car notes even with the car being broken and me not using the car. I am scheduled to completely have the car paid off in November of this year!

I've just come into a really hard time, and I'm asking for a helping hand. If they take the car back, I will have to quit my job because I won't have a way. Lord knows I can't afford for that to happen. I've been working here for four years and if I have the car taken from me after all I've paid, it will be devastating. I'll accept and appreciate all the help that I can get from the bottom of my heart. Thank you and God bless you all.
