Application Details

Missed Work: Need Utility Help | Cost to fully fund this application: 457.00 Modest Needs Points

I had been on unpaid medical leave from June 15 until August 17, 2009 as a result of a high risk pregnancy. I had a baby in June and am now a single mom of two; my husband and I are separated and he provides no support.

I have been diagnosed with a rare degenerative brain condition for which I have had two surgeries since 2000 and have also developed additional brain trauma as a result. Because of my medical history, I couldn't go back to work right after I had my baby and as a result, I fell behind in my bills.

I've tried to catch up on them, however, it is getting harder to take care of my children with food, medicines, childcare, etc. when my paycheck is going towards catching up on the basic bills. This grant will bring my electric bill current and help me to maintain my household.

My goal is to be self-sufficient as long as I can so that I can take care of my children. Thank you for your consideration
