Our financial situation has been an ongoing one since April 2000, ever since a trauma accident that left me incapable of working. The accident affected my short-term memory. I had tremendous headaches and lost 50% of the hearing on one side. Due to this accident I was medically disabled and was granted disability, so things were manageable. However, for several months now my wife's sustained a reduction in her work hours which has caused much trouble.
This financial downside has affected many people and puts a damper on everyday life. We must take one day at a time because we don't want too much stress to build up. The inability to pay our mortgage affects our sense of being. It is very disconcerting that at our age we would be in such a situation requesting your help in solving our financial obligations. My wife always reminds me that as long as we have a roof over our heads, and food in our bellies, that we are blessed far beyond many folks around the world. Finally I was able to recently find a part-time job that is accommodating to my disability and allows me to work 15 hours a week. This will help tremendously.
In conclusion, this downfall has allowed us to become more humble with our surroundings. We hold back on many things that were on our agenda when the money was available. We spend our money on things that we can, not want and try to set reasonable goals for our future. We ask you to consider our request.
