Thank you for your consideration of my needs.

Upon moving back into my home, I repaired all the leaks in the water lines of my house itself and had the water company turn on the water. Then I was slapped with a bill for over $200 for the first week that it was on. According the water company, I was still using a lot of water with the trailers supply shut off at the house. This means that the leak was in the main line, which is roughly 250' to 300' long.

Since this leak could be worsening, I had to shut off the water, pay the bill, and live without water until such time as I could afford to fix the problem. I have done so through many injuries, surgeries, infections, and cancer treatments for the last four years.

The lack of water has caused several problems. My hygiene suffers and this has caused some infections while I was undergoing chemotherapy and my double mastectomy. Keeping my home clean is a challenge. I buy bottled water to drink and cook with, and sometimes I am out at inconvenient times.

I wash my hair and bathe in rainwater that I collect in a plastic tub under my gutter spout. I used to use this water and cook with, as well as to wash the dishes, until I came home after being gone a week and discovered mosquito larvae swimming in the half gallon of rain water I had left on the counter. Needless to say, I don't do that anymore!

Although the stimulus bill has provided some help with weatherization, the repairs that are covered are limited. The problem with my water is not covered. For the most part, I have paid for the materials and done the work on my home myself, as my income and physical abilities have permitted.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated and long since remembered. Thank you.
