The loss of my job has been devastating. I am a single parent trying to cope with life and the change in the economy isn't making it any easier. I was laid off in January. To make matters worse, after seven years of employment, I was not given any severance pay. I found myself scrambling to get funds from family and friends and exhausting what little savings I had to survive.

My health problems are high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and arthritis. With health issues, health expenses always follow. I asked my health care providers to allow me to pay at a reduced rate and they have been receptive.

I appreciate their help and would like to repay their kindness and pay off my current bill. When you get older and hair starts to turn gray, you don't get many job offers. My daughter and I are living on my unemployment while I continue to seek work. Thank you for any help you can offer.
