I have suffered a series of life-changing setbacks since this past summer. In August my position with my employer was eliminated and I became unemployed. Shortly thereafter I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer.

Since then my life has been spent going back and forth to hospitals and doctors, trying to save my life while at the same time trying to not go completely under financially while I am unemployed. On top of everything my car broke down and I incurred the expense of fixing it so that I could continue to get the medical care I needed.

I applied for and was awarded SSD benefits but they will not kick in until this month and I am now late one month on my rent. I have somehow managed to make ends meet to this point. I've found ways of receiving my colostomy supplies at discounted prices and have cut corners in unimaginable ways.

My request is truly a one-time request for assistance as now that my SSD benefits will kick in I should be able to afford my rent. Your generosity and consideration would be so greatly appreciated. I am just trying to keep my head above water financially while I am treated for cancer. Thank you.
