I thank God everyday for the blessings that we have and I will be able to help someone elses child someday as you have mine. There are so many things in the world that do not make sense anymore, but the one thing my family holds onto is our faith and we knew if it was God's plan for my son to get this therapy then he would make it happen. Medical Therapy for My ASD Son!
My Story:
I am writing to ask for mercy from you to please help my 14 year old son out with his medical therapy program. My husband was laid off from a very nice job and had to settle for one that pays much less. Meanwhile I'm on disability from a car accident.
My son has ASD/ODD. He does not handle change well and has started to have episodes of anger and depression as my family struggles to adapt to our new lifestyle.
We have found an incredible 10-week program to help teach him how to cope with change, work on anger and build self-esteem; however, the children are now on Medicaid which will not cover this therapy program. Our mortgage bill is due and we cannot afford both bills. Mortgage comes first.
My husband has always been able to provide for his four children (we have an 18 year old and 2 year twins). This has never been an issue for us. The stress that our family is under is unbelievable, but each of us can deal with it in our own way; except for dear Joseph who experiences dire consequences if his emotional issues are not addressed appropriately.
This 10-week program has been successful in several children that we know through our Autism support group and they have proven lasting long-term effects. If there is any way that you could help us put him through this wonderful program to give him back his good humor and good attitude about life, we would forever thank you.
