Power Bill for Family Hanging Tough
| Cost to fully fund this application: 710.00 Modest Needs Points
My family had lived in the same home from October 2003 to June 2009, when we were given 30 days' notice that we had to move so that the owner of the home could move his nephew in. When moving, we had to pay new deposits, moving costs, and all kids of extra bills on my usual pay, which was barely getting us by, but we were okay and just making it wonderfully. With a little help, we can again be just fine, we just need help breaking even.
As a mom of three and one on the way, this situation has been very stressful. I have been a teacher for five years and also worked a second job at a coffee shop until July 30 for the past nine years. My husband is a stay-at-home dad because our youngest son became very ill from daycare. I have a college degree and a guaranteed year-to-year contract, and my husband is a construction worker (for almost ten years), and in this economy, jobs in that field are practically gone.
Help with my power bill would take so much stress off my shoulders. My children know something is going on, but we work hard to let them worry about children worries, not adult worries like the utilities. It was hard enough on them having to move to a new house, new neighborhood, and new school. Losing power would be very hard to understand.
