My Landlord Raises My Rent Every Year & I Need to Move. I Can't Afford the Truck!
My Story:
I'm a 75-year-old single mother of 2 daughters and a grandmother of 2. I have 2 awesome cats that we rescued off the street. They are my closest companions and keep my heart full of joy since I'm an empty nester. I work part-time at a retail store and receive disability income also. My disability payments barely cover my rent each month, so I need to supplement my income if everything is going to stay paid. I'm a real people person and love making people smile.
I have an opportunity to move apartments, and I really want to take it. The landlord has not maintained the property at all, but he continues to raise my rent $300 a month every year. I do not make enough to cover something as expensive as moving costs, and my family has helped me as much as they can already. Sadly, there is also no one in the family strong enough to move my stuff for me, so I would need to pay for movers as well as a truck.
I am asking for this one-time assistance getting me to my new apartment, so I can pay a reasonable amount for my rent again. Without help, I will be forced to leave behind a lot of furniture and other essential appliances which would only cost me more to replace. This assistance will truly set me up to be in a better financial position going forward, and I would be so thankful.
